dropped

#asfinfra IRC Bot commented on INFRA-7323:
------------------------------------------
<pctony> Sebb, this has been the designed effect for years now. If a list is not being actively moderated, the list needs more active moderators, not an auto-reply some n days after a mail was initially sent if not moderated. The main reason being that often spam that makes it through to moderation is just ignored, as a rejection would cause a return email. Silently ignoring it the safe option here.

> Many of our mailing lists are moderated.
> If a non-subscriber posts to the mailing list, a moderator can accept or reject the posting. If the post is rejected, a message is sent to the poster.
> However, if the moderator ignores the post, the post never reaches the mailing list, nor is the sender informed.
> This has consequences for posts sent to private mailing lists - the sender may not have karma to be able to check that the message has been received, even if this is is important (e.g. report of a security issue). They can only find out if they eventually receive a reply from someone on the list.
> Important messages sent to the pmcs list may be lost this way.
> It seems wrong that there does not appear to be any notification that a message has not been delivered.
