-1. It crashes on start for me:

This is fixed in r730949.

^^^^ This should actually be "Release httpd-2.3.1 as Alpha", but I
fail at editing copied text.

I hope everyone will still vote :)

Thanks,

Paul

I guess this needs to be sorted out during our alpha releases phase and
definitely be solved before releasing 2.4 GA. I currently don't worry
about it for alpha releases.
Maybe a good topic for the Hackathon at AC EU if Joe is there :-).

This is what an alpha exists for.

Is there any concern about the SNI support sitting in trunk? IIUC
Joe's specific concern (testable failure) referenced in the stalled
backport proposal are addressed by a later trunk commit, but there is
still the spectre of similar but undiscovered cases and the issue of
non-SNI clients.

I guess this is not a show stopper for alpha but only for GA.
Nevertheless I admit that I lost track, so thanks for the reminder. But I don't know
when I will find time to get back to this issue again. So solution proposals are welcome :-).

There is not yet any fix in trunk for the delayed closing of files when
using HTTP KeepAlive (a pool lifecycle issue).

I'm not sure whether that is a show stopper for an alpha, but Rüdiger
had the intention of trying to fix it.

See:

http://marc.info/?t=123102466200005&r=1&w=2

It's a problem specific to trunk. You'll quickly run into out of file
descriptors whenever concurrency times KeepAliveRequests is bigger than
the allowed number of FDs (content files are only closed at the end of
the connection instead of end of request).

Rainer

Vote closed with one -1, and no other votes.

I guess 2.3.1 was DOA.

I think the issues that killed it have been fixed in trunk. Thoughts on
starting 2.3.2 early next week?
