Podling Report Reminder - May 2019

Dear podling,

This email was sent by an automated system on behalf of the Apache
Incubator PMC. It is an initial reminder to give you plenty of time to
prepare your quarterly board report.

The board meeting is scheduled for Wed, 15 May 2019, 10:30 am PDT.
The report for your podling will form a part of the Incubator PMC
report. The Incubator PMC requires your report to be submitted 2 weeks
before the board meeting, to allow sufficient time for review and
submission (Wed, May 01).

Please submit your report with sufficient time to allow the Incubator
PMC, and subsequently board members to review and digest. Again, the
very latest you should submit your report is 2 weeks prior to the board
meeting.

Candidate names should not be made public before people are actually
elected, so please do not include the names of potential committers or
PPMC members in your report.

Thanks,

The Apache Incubator PMC

Submitting your Report

----------------------

Your report should contain the following:

*   Your project name
* A brief description of your project, which assumes no knowledge of
the project or necessarily of its field
* A list of the three most important issues to address in the move
    towards graduation.
* Any issues that the Incubator PMC or ASF Board might wish/need to be
    aware of
* How has the community developed since the last report
* How has the project developed since the last report.
* How does the podling rate their own maturity.

This should be appended to the Incubator Wiki page at:

https://wiki.apache.org/incubator/May2019

Note: This is manually populated. You may need to wait a little before
this page is created from a template.

Mentors
-------

Mentors should review reports for their project(s) and sign them off on
the Incubator wiki page. Signing off reports shows that you are
following the project - projects that are not signed may raise alarms
for the Incubator PMC.

Definitely. I would suggest we wit until <
https://issues.apache.org/jira/projects/TRAINING/issues/TRAINING-9> and <
https://issues.apache.org/jira/projects/TRAINING/issues/TRAINING-
<https://issues.apache.org/jira/projects/TRAINING/issues/TRAINING-9>10> are
resolved before we spread it far though.

Those are the issues about getting the website and a contributors guide up.

Hi Lars, thank you for leading this report creation. It looks good and I
have nothing to add.

Just a side note, would it be helpful to spread information about Training?
Would it help us as a community to grow?

Sincerely,
Dmitriy Pavlov

I have also removed every other explicit permission we created before (i.e.
the previous admins and edit permissions). I've just left myself in there
for now in case this doesn't work.

Yeah, this was pre-LDAP. Good suggestion! I've added training-pmc as admins
and training for editing etc.
I hope that covers everything. Let me know if it doesn't work

Hi,

How are the permission been sent up for that space? Why not just add the training or training-pmc group to the space with relevant edit permissions? (I cannot actually see what been done but as I don’t have edit permissions and am on the PPMC I’d guess that’s not been done).

These instructions don’t seem quite right and refer to the old process, when LDAP wasn’t enabled I think?

Prerequisites
	• Access to the Apache wiki
		• Create an account for this wiki
		• Write a mail to the dev mailing list and ask that your account is granted write permissions to the training wiki
	• Access to the incubator wiki
		• Create an account for the incubator wiki
		• Write a mail to the general incubator mailing list and ask that your account is granted write permissions to the incubator wiki

Thanks,
Justin

Is anyone interested in leading this?

If not I'll try to draft something up this week.
