[jira] [Created] (LEGAL-170) What Defines Distribution?
RIcky Houtris created LEGAL-170:
-----------------------------------
Summary: What Defines Distribution?
Key: LEGAL-170
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LEGAL-170
Project: Legal Discuss
Issue Type: Question
Reporter: RIcky Houtris
We are intending to use several apps on internet servers that are covered by the Apache license version 2. Our clients are going to access the data on these servers for a fee but not download any of the apps covered by these license. Can I assume that the apps are not being distributed and therefor only comply with the licenses on the actual servers that only have our own in-house administrator access; or would we have to comply by posting notices and source code in some other way that is not that clear to us?
I would rather ask for direction in the first place than get into an argument about non-compliance.
