[jira] Created: (FOR-612) Editing an Open Office document causes it to fail to render in dynamic environments

Editing an Open Office document causes it to fail to render in dynamic environments
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

         Key: FOR-612
         URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FOR-612
     Project: Forrest
        Type: Bug
  Components: Plugin: OpenOffice.org
    Versions: 0.7, 0.6
 Environment: "forrest run"
    Reporter: Ross Gardler
     Fix For: 0.8-dev

When running in a dynamic environment editing an Open Office document will prevent it from rendering on a page refesh. If you stop forrest and run again it renders fine. I suspect this is a problem with the zip generator. An alternative approach to reading the OOo source is provided in the SXWGenerator found in the Resume plugin. This generator should be moved to the OOo plugin and this issue tested.

-----------------------------------------

I had already noted that - for static sites : an update of a sxw file is not taken into acount by the plugin, at this time I thought about a problem with the cache of cocoon : cf. http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=forrest-dev&m=111597177128326&w=2

No, only committers can Assign, Delete, Link, etc.

I've done it for you. I think you should have the privs, do you see the
"link" item in the operations menu on the left when you view an issue?

Ok, I have created the following

But I don't know how to link both issues - or maybe I don't have the
privilege...

That is a different issue, in forrest run an error is reported about a missing meta.xml (which is present). During static regeneration is *may* be a problem with Cache. However, I think that this new gneerator will solve that problem as well. Something else for us to test when the generator is moved over to the OOo plugin.

If you created an issue for the point you raise in the above thread please link it to this issue so that we can track them together.

Ross Gardler commented on FOR-612:
----------------------------------

There is now a OOo generator in the Resume plugin - this needs to be moved out into the OOo plugin andused instead of the aggregation that is currently used in the sitemap.

This may solve the problem here.
