ProductServer is Component or Class?

Another Question:

we have been said that ProductServer and ProfileServers are medium-sized
components and that the webGrid is a small-sized component.

I can see why grid is considered a small component (because after grouping
tightly coupled classes, it will only consist of four components). But It is
not clear why ,for example, the ProductServer is considered a medium sized
component. In fact, it is a class that is contained in the grid package and
thus it seems to be a sub-component of grid. There is no specific package
for ProductServer. (But there are packages for Product and its handlers).

I appreciate your clarification.

Thanks
Niloofar

There is
also apache-oodt-0.2-src\product\src\main\java\org\apache\oodt\product.

Hi Niloofar,

Product and Profile servers refer (at the component level) to the profile [1] and product [2] packages inside of the OODT top level directory. Web-grid comes with its own web-grid (REST-ful) product and profile server "classes" baked in, but they aren't the profile and product server "components".

Hope that helps!

Cheers,
Chris
