Partitiond Near Cache size and Offheap Eviction policy

/asked by anil halil/

Hi,

As i understant from docs near cache size is only meaningfull when we have
partitioned cache. But i dont understant layering when i have partitioned
cache with memory mode ONHEAP_TIERED. Does it have
nearcache->localheap->offheap data layering in this case?

Actually, the answer is No, it has on-heap partitioned -> off-heap
partitioned. The near cache is mostly a client-side cache with most recently
accessed data. It is generally not very big and can be always kept on-heap.

You can think about Near cache as a client-side caching layer which sits in
front of the partitioned cache.

Hope this makes sense.
