Tiles tab- Struts

To anyone who may advice:
   Can I know how to control the size of the tab pane display area, such that it is always a fix size. Currently it is auto resize based on the content of my page in the display area. 
   Besides, how can I pass the parameter to tiles-defs.xml, in which I define the page for each tab display area?
