1.6.1 up for testing/signing

I'm pleased to announce that Subversion 1.6.1 is up for testing and
signing. The magic revision is r37116. You can find the tarballs here:

http://orac.ece.utexas.edu/pub/svn/1.6.1/

Please be sure to test the bindings.

You know the drill: signatures from full committers back to me, and
enthusiastic tester feedback is welcome. At this point, this
candidate is not yet blessed for wide release, so please don't make it
available to people not interested in test-driving the new release.

Distro package maintainers, please do NOT include any pre-release
builds, even blessed, into operating system distros. The reasons for
not doing so were very eloquently outlined by Karl in a mail, which is
summarized at the above address.

The quick version is: we don't guarantee compatibility between the pre-
releases and the final release, so if people install the release
candidate, all their repositories and working copies might break
irreparably when they upgrade to 1.6.0 proper. We don't want that
kind of bad publicity, and neither do you.

-Hyrum

	No,

I can't remember I reported this issue before.

However I did find the cause and applied a patch on trunk in r37121. (The test suite used svn_path_internal_style code to prepare the expected string, where it should have used svn_dirent_internal_style...)

Strange, I'm quite sure that this test had passed sucessfully before I
switched my WC from tags/1.6.0 to branches/1.6.x today. Also my current
working dir is d:\develop\svn\subversion-1.6\.

I think this might have pre-existed. Someone else pointed out that
you get the error only when the CWD is C:\ when you run the tests. I
recall Bert reporting this during the 1.6 RC process.

I did not get the error.

Hello there, I have the following test failure on Vista x64 :(

svn_tests: svn_dirent_get_absolute("C:") returned "C:/". expected "C:"
FAIL: dirent_uri-test.exe 18: test svn_dirent_get_absolute

This test was fine with version 1.6.0. Other tests do pass (at least for
[file], others are currently running).
