Sorry for the spam.  This appears to be a problem with samba (or my
configuration of it) as the date is not preserved properly if I do a file copy
in windows file explorer either.

If anyone knows if this is a samba limitation, bug, or misconfiguration, I'd
appreciate you dropping me a note.
