I can't admin SLIDE & SLIDE DAV Server (can't login like "root" user)
Hi everyone,
A after read all messages on this distribution list
and after a thousand of tests and changes I can't do
login neither to slide DAV Server and Slide
Administration. Login to Tomcat Manager Application
(http://localhost:8080/index.jsp) with user "admin" go
fine.
My Platform is windows2000 (service pack 3)
Browser: IE 6.0.2800.1106
I Only downloaded and installed SLIDE v1.0.16 (binary
files)
After uncompress struct of files and configure minimun
required I run server with: ...\bin\startup.bat on a
DOS windows, output follow:

with IE I go to http://localhost:8080 run fine ( I
show Apache Slide welcome page)
BUT
Error that I receive after login to slice for
administration task as: "root" and password "root",
using following address, follow:
http://localhost:8081
or
http://localhost:8082
or
http://localhost:8081/slide
or
http://localhost:8082/slide
ALWAYS I got following error on my browser (can't
login), test follow it:

Changes done in files of configuration before
startup.bat are:
1) On tomcat-users.xml file I add following line:
<user name="root" password="root" roles="root" />
2) I uncomment following lines on slide.data:
<revision>
<property name="password"
namespace="http://jakarta.apache.org/slide/">root
</property>
</revision>
I have a dubte about if above lines "namespace" field
should be changed by my local address or IP like
"http://localhost/slide/". But I tested two forms and
problems persist.
