master/slave sql backend for spamassassin

Both for performance and stability reasons I need to setup multiple
sqlbackends for spamassassin.
I have found some bits about the perl failover module, postgres
clustering and patches to spamassassin.

Does anyone have a working solution to share with multiple spamassassin
servers accessing multiple sqlservers in a failover solution.

My hope is to not reinvent the wheel here, but at the moment the sql
backend is the single point of failure.

If you weren't interested in the failover aspect of this, would LVS
still be necessary? I hadn't realized there was only one real db and
the rest were virtual, so to speak? I've implemented LVS before, and
it's perhaps overkill for my situation.

I've also thought about drdb instead, but was unsure how mysql would
operate in that way.

Thanks,
Alex

don't forget you'll need some load balancing instance to handle DB
instance failover.
LVS, HAproxy, maybe even Pen could handle that cheaply.
This should not require any SA changes as SA will onyl be talking to one
host, the load balancer.

I'm also very interested in doing this between a number of separate
servers. I'd be very interested in hearing how you make out with the
implementation, and if there were any specific SA changes you made
after you get it running.

Thanks,

Look into MariaDB/Galera cluster as a mysql drop in replacement.

http://blog.mariadb.org/mariadb-galera-cluster-5-5-29-stable-ga-released/

can't be any simpler than this.
