There are two easy solutions:
 # Provide a new method in RelBuilder giving access to the size of the stack (i.e., RelBuilder#inputCount()).
 # Change the behavior+API of RelBuilder#field(alias,fieldName) to search for an aliased field anywhere in the stack and not only on the top.

This is not very convenient since clients of RelBuilder are obliged to track the size of the stack (leading to the uneseccary creation of Wrapper classes).
