Counter on each page

Hi,

I tried to include an [{$counter}] on Left Menu Footer and hoped I'd
get a counter on each page. Unfortunately it is only incremented on
explicitely accessing Left Menu Footer.

So, how can you have a counter (or a vote) automatically on each Wiki page?
