Connection locking with DBTags

Does anyone know if there is a way in DBTags, when accessing a database by the
web when there could be many people accessing it at the same time, to
lock the connection and protect against over-writing changes and such? We were
thinking about doing time stamp comparison but that seemed awkward. Thanks!
