I am redeploying the demo app and getting the following stack trace ...

Try to change your web.xml file : add or change this setting

        <param-name>org.apache.myfaces.SERIALIZE_STATE_IN_SESSION</param-name>
        <param-value>false</param-value>
    </context-param>
