[jira] [Comment Edited] (INFRA-7594) Apache Mail blacklisted by SenderScore (aka "ReturnPath")

I'm sorry to hear this. I have no connection to them except that my ISP (and BellSouth/AT&T, Comcast, Cox, Qwest, etc.) uses them and they don't deliver Apache mail if the Apache mail server is blacklisted. When I talked with my ISP's last level tech support about this mail delivery problem we were able to track it down to the senderscore and I was able to get hermes delisted. About ten times in the meantime, so there must be a systematic problem that only a person with access to hermes and senderscore can solve. @Joe: Thanks for looking into this!

> Many Email providers use the service of https://www.senderscore.org/ named "ReturnPath" in their fight against spam. If an IP address is blacklisted by senderscore then all the recipients don't even get to see the mails from such spam servers.
> For some reason hermes.apache.org got blacklisted three times in the last few days. One can check whether it is currently blacklisted using their https://www.senderscore.org/blacklistlookup/ page. It is possible to request the blacklist status to be removed using their https://www.senderscore.org/rtbl/ page (I just did it for the third time), but it seems that hermes.apache.org is abused recently to send spam mail, so it gets blacklisted again.
> The only way to solve this to fix it at the root of the problem. Someone with enough karma on hermes.apache.org needs the check the spam problem and/or work with them to resolve this spam->blacklist issue. Mails being dropped for days and users not getting them at all is a serious problem.
