When contributors resolve an issue in JIRA, they are tagging it with a release that will contain their changes. With the release currently underway, new issues should be resolved against a subsequent future release. Therefore, you should create a release item for this subsequent release, as follows:

In JIRA, navigate to the Flink > Administration > Versions.
Add a new release: choose the next version number(s), select today’s date as the Start Date, and choose Add.
For new minor release (e.g., 2.2.0), create new version for both the next minor release (2.3.0) and the next bugfix release (2.2.1)
For new bugfix release (e.g., 2.2.1), create new version for the next bugfix release (2.2.2)
(Note: Only PMC members have access to the project administration. If you do not have access, ask on the mailing list for assistance.)

 

Expectations
The new version should be listed in the dropdown menu of fixVersion or affectedVersion under "unreleased versions" when creating a new Jira issue.
