New resource type when edited refers to the foaf.rng?
I added a a couple of new resources in lenya, one is the sample person
resource that is discussed in the tutorial and I created and added my own
resource as well, I can create a new resource type that I added, when when I
try editing the resource using bxe the person resource works perfectly, but
when I try to edit my own resource using bxe it is trying to load the
foaf.rng, Relax NG schema for the person resource and is failing. Where is
the foaf.rng file being referenced in the new resource I created.
Any tips on resolving this will be much appreciated.
Best regards,
Monisha

Thanks Jorn.
I removed the piece of snippet from the cocoon.conf file and then rebuilt
lenya and started it and it worked perfectly.

to clarify: the build process does update the file, but not the way you
(and any other sane person for that matter) would think.
the xconf files are patches that are applied to the master cocoon.xconf.
the patch behaviour is defined in the header of the patch:
<xconf xpath="/cocoon/resource-types"
unless="/cocoon/resource-types/component-instance[@name = 'homepage']">
<!--...-->
</xconf>
this means: patch the included xml snippet into /cocoon/resource-types
*unless* such a snippet already exists.
once you've applied a patch, the snippet does exist. that means that if
you change the patchfile later, the updated patch will never be applied.
all you can do about it is manually remove the snippet from
cocoon.xconf, or delete the file altogether and do a full rebuild.
if you think you did as described above, and the patch was still wrong,
then my guess would be that you have another patchfile lying around
somewhere from your earlier experiments. and the first patchfile to go
in wins. grep through your source tree to make sure.

Thanks Jorn. The problem is resolved. I edited the cocoon.conf file for the
new resource type and that resolved it. The build process was not pdating
the file.

you will need to edit an xconf patch file. for example, see the
"homepage" resource type in the default publication:
src/pubs/default/modules/homepage/config/cocoon-xconf/resource-type-homepage.xconf
in there, you will find a reference to the appropriate rng grammar.
the trouble with patch files is that they are read once during build and
applied to build/lenya/webapp/WEB-INF/cocoon.xconf. depending on the
header of the patch file, the patch will not be updated after it has
been applied once. so you may have a correct patch file in your sources,
but the actual cocoon.xconf may have the wrong setting. check it and
delete the resource type section, or delete the entire file, and then
rebuild.
hope that helps,

* Did you restart your servlet engine?
* Did you double-check that the document has the correct resource type?
* Did you try to open the schema in the browser? Maybe a caching issue?
If nothing else helps, you could use the debugger to find out why the
wrong schema is used.

Re: New resource type when edited refers to the foaf.rng?
Posted by MShah <mo...@yahoo.com>.
Thanks Andreas for responding.
I did check the resource file for my module, and I do not have any
references to person there. I checked the documentation on editing a
resource and it says besides changing the
resourcetype-generaltemplateone.xconf file
"When you re-deploy the module, make sure that cocoon.xconf is properly
updated - either by deleting the file from the web application, or by adding
the new line manually. "
So I deleted the cocoon.xconf file, rebuild suing build.bat, but I am still
getting the error where in when I am trying to edit using bxe it tries to
validate using the foaf.rng file from the person module and complains that
Document has root node named html RelaxNG expects rdf:RDF
Any inputs on resolving this will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Monisha

the schema is referenced in the resource type declaration:
<component-instance name="person" logger="lenya.resourcetypes"
class="org.apache.lenya.cms.publication.ResourceTypeImpl">
<schema
