[Issue 128420] New: Move/Copy sheet tabs back into file corrupts sheet version 4.1.7

https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=128420

          Issue ID: 128420
        Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: Move/Copy sheet tabs back into file corrupts sheet
                    version 4.1.7
           Product: Calc
           Version: 4.1.7
          Hardware: PC
                OS: Windows 10
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: Major
          Priority: P5 (lowest)
         Component: editing
          Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
          Reporter: jbsteidel@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Move/Copy sheet tabs back into file corrupts sheet version 4.1.7

I had Open Office open for a long time (days), and there were four or five OO
documents open.
I copied some spreadsheet tabs to a new file. I made a few changes in the new
file. I saved it as an ods file and as an xls file because I was going to
e-mail it. I closed it before e-mailing it.
I reopened the ods file. I deleted the sheets to replace from the original
file. Then I copied the sheets from the newer file back into the original
file.
A different tab sheet was corrupted.

This has happened to me before, when I moved some sheets without copying and
then copied them back to the main sheet. The main sheet for this time is
derived from that main sheet.

I tried to reproduce the actions that I did up to the problem, but first I
closed all the Open Office documents so I could make copies using Windows 10
Explorer.
I opened three odt files, and then the main spreadsheet, a version I had saved
four days ago. I tried to repeat the actions, but I was unable to reproduce
the problem. Maybe it has something to do with OO being open so long?

The Windows Task Manager shows the CPU at 100% and the Memory at 9.3/15.9 GB.

Hi jsteidel,

I find this difficult to evaluate. What do you mean by "A different tab sheet
was corrupted"?

I would not rule out any Issues from OpenOffice to and Application on the
System to the system itself causing the corruption.

Can you please provide more info? - At least describe the kind of your
Document. How many tabs, and Data does it contain. The formulas do they
reference cross sheets? and so on. So maybe we can build a test to check if we
can figure what it is together.

Maybe in general a discussion on a dev Channel is better then in the bug
tracker.
