--- Comment #1 from Rainer Bielefeld <ra...@bielefeldundbuss.de> ---
NOT a valid bug report, description is much too imprecise!
I think I can reproduce reporter's observations with "AOO 4.0.1 – German UI /
German locale [Rev. 1524958 2013-09-20 11:40:29]" on German WIN7 Home Premium
(64bit)", “historic” 4.0 User Profile used for all predecessor versions.
But it's a user error, not a bug.
My steps:
0. If necessary: From AOO Start Center menu 'Tools -> Options -> OOo -> General
- Check "Use OO dialogs"'
1. From AOO Start Center menu 'File -> New -> HTML-Document'
> New document will be opened
2. Type some arbitrary words ("This is a test")
3. Save in an arbitrary public documents folder with menu 'File -> Save'
> Dialog Appears, do not change Filetype "HTML"
'Check Auto Name Extension if not already done -> Browse for
appropriate folder -> Type name "Sample" [Save]
> Document will be saved as "Sample.HTML"
4. Save as "Sample1.HTML"with menu 'File -> Save as -> Change name to
"Sample1"
5. Menu 'File -> Save as -> rightclick -> Rename -> Change "Sample.HTML" to
"Sample.HTM" -> Click on name "Sample1.HTML" -> [Cancel]
> Dialog will be closed
6. Menu 'File -> Save as'
Expected (?): 2 Documents listed
Actual: Only "Sample1.HTML", "Sample.HTM" is missing.
(a) expectation is wrong! The AOO-Save-File dialog only lists documents with
matching filename extension. If you save an .odt aou also only will see
*.odt in folder, not *.ott, *.doc, ...
(b) If you want yo can make those "hidden" documents visible by typing "*.*"
into the filename line, then click [Save]. "Hidden" document appears.
(c) This seems a little inconsistent because File-Open-dialog for HTML
documents lists both put frpm File-Save point of view its consistent
(d) So NOT_AN_ISSUE
@Jens611
May I ask you to be more precise in your wording? That will help to avoid
"Not_An_Issue' reports. Documents do not simply "disappear". They might be
invisible in a File dialog, and a further test with WIN Files Explorer shows
..." or so.
Please feel free to reopen this Bug if you find out that a real problem exists
in the latest public release of AOO and if you can provide requested additional
precise information. We need a test kit (Attachment here in the Bug report) and
a detailed step by step instruction how to reproduce your problem, for details
please see <http://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/QA/HowToFileIssue> and my test
above!
