[jira] [Commented] (DOXIASITETOOLS-270) Remove default skin
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DOXIASITETOOLS-270?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17636209#comment-17636209 ]
Herve Boutemy commented on DOXIASITETOOLS-270:
----------------------------------------------
yes, description requires to be clear to differentiate:
1. a precise skin which is named "Maven Default Skin" = https://maven.apache.org/skins/maven-default-skin/
2. the default skin that is used, that is until now this famous "Maven Default Skin", but will now default to "Maven Fluido Skin" = https://maven.apache.org/skins/maven-fluido-skin/
questions:
- what does "rely on bundled skin artifacts" mean? "bundled"?
- what does "self contained" mean?

> The "Maven Default Skin" skin https://maven.apache.org/skins/maven-default-skin/ is poorly maintained and shares a lot code with the Fluido Skin which no one cross checks.
> To ease maintenance, we will remove the Maven Default Skin and will solely rely on bundled skin artifacts.
> By default site renderer will require a skin to be provided which is selfcontained, Maven Default Skin isn't. If no site descriptor isn't provided by default the fluido skin will be used.
