I've been subscribed to the Apache OFBiz mailing lists for over a year and everything has worked fine. Recent emails sent to those lists are blocked and they come back from Apache with a 530 error.

The email address I'm sending from is adrianc<at>hlmksw.com. The IP address sending the emails is 71.119.123.156. Could someone check to see if my domain or IP address is being blocked?

SORBS is a bad BL to use - it's not maintained. I requested delisting weeks ago and no one has responded.

You might try taking it up with verizon, who supplied
the IP list to sorbs.  In any case, we're not disabling
sorbs for you, it's far too effective.  If you cannot
get delisted, let us know and we can whitelist you.

As far as I can tell, SORBS is incorrect here.  This is not dynamic IP space, as their lookup tool claims:

as you can see all the hosts in the surrounding 10 IPs clearly indicate that they are using statically-assigned addresses, which strongly suggests it's a static block.  The SORBS listing is caused by a /16 -- 71.119.0.0-71.119.255.255.  that also seems far, *far* too broad.

I think the correct thing to do is ignore the SORBS listing and whitelist locally at least, and at most switch from SORBS to PBL if that isn't already being used.  PBL nowadays seems to include much more than the SORBS data, and with a comparable accuracy rating in our tests.

in our overlap tests, 51% of RCVD_IN_PBL hits also hit RCVD_IN_SORBS_DUL; 90%

I really appreciate your efforts. Trust me, I've tried everything.

Even though SORBS claims they got their information from Verizon, Verizon techs insist they don't provide that information to any of those block lists. Verizon assigned us a static IP - why would they then tell SORBS it's dynamic?

I used to use SORBS on our mail server, but too many legitimate emails were being blocked. Like I said, it's a bad list to use.

I'm currently using SpamCop and SpamHaus in addition to an internet security appliance - very little spam gets through.

Anyways, thank you for your time. It will be inconvenient for me to maintain two email accounts, but I'll deal with it.
