J2EE configuration

What is the best way to configure logging on a WebLogic 5.1 server?  I would
like specifics, like where to put the log4j.jar, system CLASSPATH,
WEBLOGIC_CLASSPATH, or include in the WEB-INF lib and in the EJB jars(ugh!).

Any help would be appreciated.
