This is interesting. Could the behavior of the proof-of-concept {{FuncRangeFacetParser}} be achieved with stock range faceting? Regardless, it's a good proof-of-concept; but curiosity has me wondering about additional use cases that might help illustrate some of the potential uses/implications of the proposed plugin extension.
Also, I just uploaded a slightly modified patch with passing test.
