Postgres - support for DATE data type in FilterBox
Greetings to the superset community. I have been using the tool with
SQLLite and have recently moved to using PostGres as it is our target
production database/report store.
I have columns of type Date that are not handled correctly and am at a loss
to find a solution. I have searched existing issues and wanted to run it
past the distribution list before filing an issue. (not sure if this is the
convention or i should file an issue first)
The DATE column fields seem to be treated as BIGINT, though the SQLLab
queries handle them correctly.
so 2018-01-01 values in the database are rendered as 1514764800000 in the
FilterBox and any filter actions fail as the SQL generated is "WHERE date
IN (1514764800000)"
operator does not exist: date = bigint LINE 4: WHERE date IN
(1514764800000) ^ HINT: No operator matches the given name and argument
type(s). You might need to add explicit type casts.
I tried putting in to_date('{}', 'YYYY-MM-DD') as the date expression, but
this only works for "Time related form attributes" not the filter box
visualization where the date values come from the database. The other
charts viz. Tables render date columns fine.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Regards
Deenar
