We resolved 51 issues in this release (web page will be published post
RC promotion):

I've updated the online release notes for 2.2.3.

If we want to update the release notes in kit then I'll have to re-cut
this RC. Do we consider this issue to be a blocker?

Hi Ioannis,

you are right, I updated a bunch of Jira to the correct target versions, 
but I forgot this one.
We need to be careful with the fix version/affected version attributes.

Anyway, I don't think that we have to cancel the release for that.

Issues KARAF-776  and KARAF-807 are cellar issues which have wrong fix
version (2.2.3 & 3.0.0 instead of cellar-2.2.3 & cellar-3.0.0).
We may want to remove them from the release notes in order to avoid
confusion.

Ran into an issue with itests, but other than that, it works fine on
WindowsXP. Definately not a show-stopper.  Here's the iTest failure:

Built on empty ubuntu and W7; tested with various projects. Checked NOTICE,
README, ... The notice is a little bit outdated (years), but definitely no

Hi Dan,

the fix version is 3.1.0, that's why it doesn't include in 2.2.3.

I add the 2.2.4 as a target fix version.

If I understand correctly releases can't be vetoed ([1], search on 
"Releases may not be vetoed").  The release manager just needs 3 +1's 
and then it's his/her choice whether or not to release.
