[jira] [Commented] (CASSANDRA-14469) Cassandra Telnet Invalid/Unsupported Protocol

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-14469?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16491198#comment-16491198 ]

Chris Lohfink commented on CASSANDRA-14469:
-------------------------------------------

Putty is a SSH client and Cassandra is not SSH server so there should be no expectation that you can use putty to connect to it. Cassandra requires a CQL client, it is not a text based protocol you can use telnet to connect to. This is not a bug. Try using cqlsh
