Question on Xerces 3.1.0 compatibility with Xalan

We are users of both Xerces-C++ and Xalan-C++. We are evaluating
standardising on Xerces 3.1.0 on all our supported platforms. After
rolling this out we discovered we have an issue with one component where
we do XSLT processing and which uses Xalan 1.10 together with the
compatible Xerces release - 2.7.0. My questions: are there plans to
release a version of Xalan that is compatible with Xerces 3.1.0, or even
a later version of Xerces? If there are plans, is there a target release
date? If Xalan-C++ is not to be maintained, can anyone recommend an
alternative cross-platform C++ XSLT processor?
