[jira] Created: (MASSEMBLY-537) inheritance on assembly descriptors
inheritance on assembly descriptors
-----------------------------------
Key: MASSEMBLY-537
URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MASSEMBLY-537
Project: Maven 2.x Assembly Plugin
Issue Type: New Feature
Reporter: Shaun
Priority: Minor
I frequently use custom assembly descriptors, but have found it to be cumbersome to copy over the same one only to change a few settings.
Would it be possibly to allow inheritance in assembly descriptors, much like a parent pom type relationship?
I'm thinking you could declare a 'parentAssembly' in your assembly descriptor and then just change what you need.
