Change tracking in Word document

Hi,

I'm trying to use the HWPF code to extract some text from a word document.

One problem that I'm having is that the document was created with
change tracking on, and HWPF still "sees" the paragraphs that have
been deleted, even though they are no longer in the final document. 
Is there any way to determine if the paragraph has been deleted, or is
HWPF completely blind to change tracking?
