[jira] [Commented] (LANG-925) Deprecate o.a.c.lang.time.* package

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LANG-925?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17551311#comment-17551311 ]

Johannes Graham commented on LANG-925:
--------------------------------------

The java.time.format.DateTimeFormatter class from Java 8 would seem to fulfil comparable printing/ parsing requirements.

+1 for deprecating the bulk of the package. Given that Java 8 is required for commons-lang anyhow it would be good to steer people to the standard classes.
