Re: Adding HTTPS to Tomcat/Apache/mod_jk install PROBLEM

I have been following this thread from the beginning as I previously posted a
similar question but got a poor response.

I experimented with mod_ssl on apache and then jsse on tomcat and i got both
of them working fine. I clicked on the right mouse button -properties(this is
in windows IE) to view the encryption level of the apache server pages and i
got the following message for my connection

TLS 1.0, RC4 with 128 bit encryption (High); RSA with 1024 bit exchange

which is ok. I did the same for the standalone tomcat machine but it says the
page/connection is not encrypted. But I am viewing the page over https and i
saw the prompt for the self signed certificate. What does this mean?

Ideally i would like to have encrypted pages but i am not sure which machine
in my production environment should do the ssl stuff. My set-up is tomcat
1.3.26 mod_jk and Tomcat 4.18. I only need the ssl when people want to view
jsp pages (basically people accessing pages on the tomcat machine). But jsse
does not encrypt the pages so how can I go about this problem.

Can you eloborate on the machine that handles the request not the one that
serves the request should do ssl please.

Regards
Amran
