Compile issues with the Thrift compiler on Windows - in Cygwin

this is a new issue and relates to attempts in compiling thrift on Windows in Cygwin environment. I did not make any progress using the Visual Studio. It just does not work.

However I'm following up the instructions mentioned here (https://thrift.apache.org/docs/install/windows) for Cygwin.
Running ./configure gives me the following error. The full prinout is listed below. Thanks

Thanks very much Jens. I'm going back to VisualStudio to build the libraries.

I downloaded boost and openssl in binary and header form.

I get the following errors immediately from libthrift project. (haven't tried the other one yet)

1>d:\local\openssl-0.9.8h-1\include\openssl\ossl_typ.h(176): error C2143: syntax error: missing ')' before 'constant'

Hi Jeff,

if you're building from trunk/master on Windows, I'd recommend to just
forget about Cygwin. If you need a Thrift compiler for already released
versions, there are prebuild EXE files available in the download section.

The Visual Studio project for the Thrift Compiler builds just fine, given
you a) installed Winflexbison and b) copied over manually the version.h file
(from the *.in file) that would otherwise be missing. The latter is normally
created by the build process, but you can just copy it over, there's not
much in that file. If you run into specific(!) error messages, just post
them here.

Building the C++ library requires boost and some more stuff, like SSL
libraries. Jim King is about to complete some work in that area, check the
mails on the dev mailing list or look onto his work at Github.

Have fun,

running bootstrap.sh prior to that gave me these warnings. Thought i should mention them since they could be related.
