   ### What happened?
   
   #23805 bumped the Spark version to 3.2, which enables [AQE](https://spark.apache.org/docs/latest/sql-performance-tuning.html#adaptive-query-execution). 
   
   This seems to affect the TPCDS performance ([metrics dashboard](http://metrics.beam.apache.org/d/tkqc0AdGk2/tpc-ds-spark-classic-new-sql?orgId=1&from=1689772672916&to=1690176616270)) of the Spark Dataset Runner for complex queries.
