Maven 1.X EAR question

Is this possible:

I have a "war" type dependency in my EAR modules' project.xml. I would like 
to have
<ear.appxml.war.context-root>${my.prop}</ear.appxml.war.context-root> in the 
POM and that the generated application.xml file have the same string 
"${my.prop}" as context-root (and not the resolved value of it!).
