Oracle India is hiring staff to work fulltime on Apache NetBeans

Hi all,

I'm at NetBeans Day in Bangalore, India, with a full room of developers on
a Saturday (even more impressive because in a long weekend because of
public holiday on Monday).

Also present are NetBeans Dream Team members Aatul, Gaurav, Ivar, and
Tushar. Quite a few Oracle folks are present too, including an Oracle
Senior Director who announced that Oracle is building a team of individual
contributors to Apache NetBeans (incubating) here in India.

Two have already been hired, I've met them, and they're already fixing bugs
in the hg repo and will transition to Apache NetBeans once the code is
there. There are 4 other open positions for this team of individual
contributors to Apache NetBeans from Oracle. The group is known as the
NetBeans IDC team (NetBeans India Development Center).

Anyway, this is great news, a formalized fulltime group of dedicated Apache
NetBeans developers sponsored by Oracle. They'll have to be voted in to be
Apache NetBeans committers, etc, i.e., following the established process.

Here's a Tweet about this development:

If anyone reading this is in India and interested in taking up this offer,
let me know.

Thanks,

Gj
