I have a bizarre problem, all my toolbar icons have disappeared overnight.
I already tried everything I can, I uninstalled the suite twice, erased all
folders remaining after install, and nothing.
This happens on all apps of the suite I have installed.
"Galaxy" icon set is most affected, "Classic" shows some icons:

I tried closing and reopening the toolbars, nothing.
I also tried editing, and when I do, I can see the icons in that option window:

I haven't changed anything on the installation, the only thing I recently
"changed" is that Windows updated .NET
I tried uninstalling the .NET update, but it didn't do anything. If it changed
something that didn't get removed on uninstall, I don't know.
The update is this one:

I applied it the day before the issue started happening. It's the only reason I
can think of, but I don't know how to fix this.

Uninstall is useless if you don't reinit the user profile.
Please report back the outcome of your testing, so this Issue may be closed or
progressed as necessary - otherwise the issue may be Resolved as Invalid in the
future.

As this is not a problem which is caused by OpenOffice but clearly based
somewhere in your Windows installation (or other software), it's not possible
to help you here. Please ask for help in the user forums [1] or the users
mailing list [2].
The issue tracker is not the right place for such case of problems.

I erased the user profile, as I said I deleted everything left behind as far as
I can tell. None of the settings I had were kept after I manually erased all
the things.
I particularly erased everything under
C:\Users\MyUSerName\AppData\Roaming\OpenOffice\4
If there's anything else I should do, like a registry key deletion, let me
know. But I couldn't find it.
I don't know why it has been marked as not an issue, there's clearly something
going on. Please do not dismiss the issue.
