[jira] [Created] (JAMES-1279) question marks in 8-bit headers
question marks in 8-bit headers
-------------------------------
Key: JAMES-1279
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JAMES-1279
Project: JAMES Server
Issue Type: Bug
Affects Versions: 3.0-beta1, 3.0
Environment: Windows XP
Reporter: Dmitry
If mail headers (From, To, Subject) contain 8-bit characters without encoding, question marks are stored in the database instead of 8-bit characters.
The original content of the message headers is lost. Any recovery is not possible.

Hi Dmitry,
The online documentation refers to beta3.
For beta4 snapshots, we moved the system files (spring, properties,...) to META-INF/org/apache/james/ which is a subfolder of conf folder.
You can create there your database.properties, overriding http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/james/mailbox/trunk/spring/src/main/resources/META-INF/org/apache/james/database.properties
We will update the online documentation when releasing app beta4
Thx,
Eric

I'm trying to test apache-james-3.0-beta4-20111014.184108-223-app jpa provider (PostgreSQL). But where is the file 'database.properties' in the 'conf' directory?
