[jira] [Created] (CXF-4443) MediaType handler is too strict when processing types without subtypes

Sergey Beryozkin created CXF-4443:
-------------------------------------

Summary: MediaType handler is too strict when processing types without subtypes
                 Key: CXF-4443
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CXF-4443
             Project: CXF
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: JAX-RS
            Reporter: Sergey Beryozkin
            Assignee: Sergey Beryozkin

What happens now and then is that browsers or legacy services set a media type which is not technically correct, example, '*', 'text', etc. The media type handler needs to be more tolerable, but also able to strictly enforce the rules
