Large read-only Persistent Doms produce too many objects
Summary: Large read-only Persistent Doms produce too many objects
Product: Xerces2-J
Version: 2.0.2
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: Other
Component: DOM
AssignedTo: xerces-j-dev@xml.apache.org
ReportedBy: mcrosby@insight.com
When using a large read only persistent dom, xerces seems to be producing a
large number of tempry string objects when getNodeValue is called on different
elements. Would it be acceptable, in this case, to maintain a reference to
the string elements that are being created by getNodeValue? This would
prevent the large number of temporary objects that are observed being created
and destroyed.
