Hi Travis, I just noticed this ticket, sorry about that. Many of us were involved in Heroku's Cloudant add-on. After Cloudant was acquired the IBM Legal team told us that the terms of the add-on contract were unacceptable and we didn't bother trying to work out an alternative agreement. IBM was on the verge of launching it's own PaaS and we chose to pour our energies into ensuring a good integration with Bluemix instead.

I don't remember who the other add-on provider was -- maybe IrisCouch? -- but I'd welcome your efforts to bring CouchDB back to Heroku. Cheers,
