Ajp12ConnectionHandler Necessary?
Hi all,
I apologize if this has been thoroughly discussed, but I didn't see anything
in the archives.
I was wondering why an Ajp12ConnectionHandler needs to be specified in the
server.xml file for tomcat to shutdown gracefully. After checking the source
code, I saw that tomcat.java uses this handler to shut the server down, but
is there a particular reason for this?
I'm running tomcat as a stand-alone server using a pooled tcp connector, so
I don't have any need for this connector and would rather not have it start.
The user guide claims that only one of the two connectors in the default
server.xml file needs to be started, but this isn't true.
I would like to suggest either a change to the user guide, or even better, a
change to tomcat.java which allows the graceful shutdown of a server not
using Ajp12ConnectionHandler.
Thanks,
Alex
