Time for RC3?

There have been a few more changes to the branch lately. What do
people think about pushing out an RC3 and then an official release
shortly thereafter? Should we get the ball rolling on the RC3? I'm
+1 as long as there as people have tested RC2 for the basics.

Right now I'm trying to keep my head above water with work, side
consulting, personal life and open source. I think I can find time to
do the build if we can get a consensus.

RC3 is up and ready for testing. Martin, can you send the relevant
announcements (including announce list)?

I filed this JIRA issue recently:
   http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MYFACES-700

I marked it as BLOCKER because I do believe this *must* be fixed before
a new myfaces release is made. It's new code which changes behaviour
since the previous release.

I'll try to find time to put together a patch to restore the old
behaviour but I'm really under pressue with a project at the moment and
it's hard to find time to learn how to build and unit-test myfaces.

What do you mean by change the RC3 build? Do you mean the extension?
Yes we could manually change that ... as long as the manifest, etc.
say 1.1.1 and not RC3.

Hi Sean,

Sorry to not respond to the idea. I was in a hurry to get the change
done and only read that I left RC2 in the build and just now came
back to the email.

I made the change.

I like the idea of changing the build so that the extension can be
set by ant command line.

We can also manually change the RC3 build to 1.1.1 if we decide to do
that right?

Unfortunately this is building as RC2 in the filename, etc. Can you
update the version in the props files, etc?

Suggestion: We leave it as 1.1.1 and manually (for now) add RC3 to the
resulting bundles. This way the same EXACT build can be retagged as
final if we vote +1. Make sense?

Sometime in the near future I will add a tweak to the build so that
you can optionally add the suffix through ant.
