config commands for apache

Hello,

I am trying to setup Apache Tomcat 5.5.9 and am following the instructions from the following website:

However, after I install Apache 1.3.33 and attempt the config commands, I get the following message:


Configuring for Apache, Version 1.3.33
 + using installation path layout: Apache (config.layout)
configure:Error: invalid option ' '


After googling for a while, I still don't know what this means.
