Multi part pricing

Hi Community,

I have a requirement to be modeled similar to the discussion in the link
below
http://ofbiz.135035.n4.nabble.com/Product-Multiple-Part-Price-td142318.html#a142321

>From the thread looks like this is would need to be developed custom. As an
alternative exploring if one can model a product, say telephone connection
consisting of handset and service as a package. Now the challenge is the
package takes a price component which overrides the package component
prices. Configurable products too is an option but still give out only one
price component.

As an alternative wondering if we can have a package with 2 components but
no direct price. For such cases, the component prices are picked up and
applied. Possible? Recommended?

Also to handle cases the component products are sold individually with say a
higher price tag, rules to apply discount when under a named package might
do the trick?

Believe this treatment can be handled in ProductPriceServices. If this makes
sense, would be happy to contribute back when done.

Welcome inputs/suggestions as I have an urgent requirement to model this.

Thanks
ar
