[DRAFT][ANNOUNCE] Apache Royale 0.9.7 released

The Apache Royale community is pleased to announce the release of Apache
Royale 0.9.7.

The Apache Royale project is the next generation of the Apache Flex SDK. It
lets developers use MXML and ActionScript 3 to generate HTML/JS/CSS
applications which can run natively in browsers. The cross-compiled code
can also run on platforms like Electron or Apache Cordova (Adobe PhoneGap)
to build mobile applications.

This release should be considered ‘beta’ quality, although we’re very close
to a 1.0 release and we have many applications in production at this point.
The purpose of this release is to continue to gather feedback about
Royale’s features and the project’s implementation strategies, and to
recruit new contributors. We hope to grow the code base into an SDK and
tool chain that delivers the highest productivity when developing
applications that can run on many platforms. Beta releases, however, may
not handle all production needs.

Changes in 0.9.7:

release, send email to [hidden email].

Re: [DRAFT][ANNOUNCE] Apache Royale 0.9.7 released

Posted by Carlos Rovira <ca...@apache.org>.
Hi Piotr,

not sure, or didn't read about it. Anyway, I think the important thing is
to spread the word out there as links are ok.
The email announcement is something we need to do, but almost all people in
these lists knows about that even before launch it.
In opposite, the rest of the world knows about a release when we start to
post on website, and then twitter, facebook and linkedin.
So for me is just another medium where we need to post, but nothing else.

Anyway just my opinion we can change protocols for this, but maybe will be
just will be bureaucratic for us.

Thanks

Carlos

Carlos,

Shouldn't happen first once we announce on Apache mailing list, than your
post ? I'm wondering if it's any kind of policy in Apache.

Hi Yishay,

since we change not only download page, but we already publish a blog post,
maybe better to do it myself.
There's a release notes for the website, but it implies some learning to do
it. Maybe better to start doing some blog post publication when there's no
hurry.

Although as I stated before, I expect to move from WP, as I get some time.
Problem is I'm currently with lot of work

So will work in the web changes in some hours ahead. Will notice here soon

Thanks

Carlos

Yishay, Alex well done on the recent efforts. Very much appreciated and
will be great to see us getting these out quickly going forward.

Another thing you may want to add to the announce is this:

And I would suggest that if others have things they feel should be added to
that, don't hold back :)

I’ll wait 24 hours for your comments before releasing the official announcement.

Subject: [DRAFT][ANNOUNCE] Apache Royale 0.9.7 released

Apache Royale Framework 0.9.7:
