Java vs C++

	We have run the same pair of XML and XSL files against both the Java
and C++ versions of Xalan in order to get some idea of a performance
comparision between the two versions. In the area of parsing, the C++
version far out performs the Java version, but when it comes to
transforming, Java performs faster. Does anyone have any thoughts on why
Java would be faster than C++ for transforming?
