[jira] Created: (IVYDE-101) Integrate Ivy classpath container with Web-app libraries in Eclipse WTP

Integrate Ivy classpath container with Web-app libraries in Eclipse WTP
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: IVYDE-101
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IVYDE-101
             Project: IvyDE
          Issue Type: New Feature
          Components: classpath container
    Affects Versions: 2.0.0.alpha1
            Reporter: Erik-Berndt Scheper
             Fix For: 2.0

It would be *very* nice if the dependencies resolved by the classpath container of IVYDE could be integrated with the Web App Libraries provided by the Eclipse Web Tools Project (WTP). Currently it is not possible to use the Jar's resolved by IVYDE (and their source attachments) in a WTP Server. Therefore it is still necessary to manually copy the jars into the WEB-INF/lib folder and thereby loose the source-attachments. This problem would then be resolved.

However, care should be taken that IVYDE will not require Eclipse WTP to run, so this will probably be a tricky integration.

    Description:
It would be *very* nice if the dependencies resolved by the classpath container of IVYDE could be integrated with the Web App Libraries provided by the Eclipse Web Tools Project (WTP). Currently it is not possible to use the Jar's resolved by IVYDE (and their source attachments) in a WTP Server (resulting in NoClassDefFound errors). However, care should be taken that IVYDE will not require Eclipse WTP to run, so this will probably be a tricky integration.

I prefer release often than blocking a release because of a missing feature, so I will let as is. But I am not saying that it won't be in a 2.0, if we can get an implementation, it will be welcomed to be integrated.

Nicolas Lalevée resolved IVYDE-101.
-----------------------------------

    Resolution: Duplicate

I have looked a little bit into it, it seems not trivial, see IVYDE-44

-------------------------------------------

Sorry, I must have been blind not to find the original issue which I've duplicated.

Despite the fact that you say it's not trivial, I am convinced that this will help promote IvyDE usage amongst Eclipse developers. Maybe you can move IVYDE-44 to the roadmap for 2.0?
