     Project: MINA
        Type: Bug
 Environment: Website

it's impossible to find on the website how to get the current source, you only can look at svnweb. You can read the tutorial/examples but you can't try its.

Nah ! Quality is getting lower on those entries recently :)

But honestly, Henri Yandell did a huge work on those download pages (as
well as scrape old useless misleading content)
It's no fun job.

Yeahh... It's still incubating for a few more days. Consider that this
project need some fresh diapers, but its fathers (Alex, Alan, ..;-)
knows everything about diapers, so, ...

(Stéphane, too much Hani's reading those last days, I think ;-)

It's a motivation test. ;)

You will note, that it's indirectly a trademark of Apache Jakarta these
days.
There has been a lot of work to simplify it lately but it's still a
challenge for anyone not well-versed into hardcore development to find
what he really needs.

What's missing is roughly someone a bit more aware of user-interface
design and content accessibility than hardcore server-side developpers.
But there's no such profile AFAIK :)

I think the point was not that the source can't be
downloaded, but that from the front door web site
(http://incubator.apache.org/projects/directory.html)
it's impossible to find the source. I found the
same thing, FWIW : it took a couple of days to
track down the source. I figured it was some kind
of intelligence test : if you can't find the source,
you don't deserve to see it ;)

If you compare with projects on sourceforge,
from the project page, it's obvious and simple to
get the to the source. It'd be nice if it were equally
easy for this project.

It's better to reply in JIRA. Not the mailing list.

Hi Julien,

there are many way to get the code :

1) on the web site, download
(http://cvs.apache.org/dist/incubator/directory) and browse to the 0.8
tag
(http://cvs.apache.org/dist/incubator/directory/apacheds/apacheds-0.8/).

You'll get ApacheDS and Naming sources of the 0.8 version.

2) Install a SVN client and check out either a specific tag or the
trunk :

http://incubator.apache.org/directory/svn.html

Getting the sources from Subversion :
There's a few options for you. Subversion can be run from the command
line (Linux or Windows) and there are also an increasing number of GUI's
and plugin's.

Command-line tools
The SVN utilities are available as native Windows, Linux, and solaris
binaries. The source is also avaiable for other operating systems. The
binaries and source can be obatined from the Subversion download page..

To get the entire project, run the following command

          svn co https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/directory
